Description
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Manage and develop a team of real estate professionals. Foster collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Identify opportunities to increase real estate revenue and improve asset utilization across G&W’s railroads.
- Oversee high-volume processes, including associated contracts and data.
- Ensure compliance and clarity in all property-related agreements in partnership with G&W’s legal team.
- Work directly with executive leadership and cross-functional teams to align real estate initiatives with company-wide priorities, ensuring our property portfolio supports long-term growth and operational excellence. Build and refine processes to improve efficiency, data management, and decision-making across the real estate function.
- Lead negotiations for high-profile leases, licenses, acquisitions, and property sales. Ensure agreements support long-term business goals and operational needs.
- Take ownership of diverse projects, often without a predefined roadmap. Apply sound judgment and creative problem-solving to move initiatives forward.
- Leads the real estate budgeting process
- Travels to company sites as needed
- Manage other projects and perform other duties as assigned
REQUIRED SKILLS AND / OR EXPERIENCE :
At least seven years of real estate background and property management experience, with a concentration in right-of-way or corridor management preferredKnowledge of contracts and general understanding of title issuesExcellent skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and AccessSolid strategic, analytical, organizational, and leadership skillsStrong attention to detailStrong oral and written communication skillsAbility to function and complete assignments in a multitasking environmentREQUIRED EDUCATION AND / OR CREDENTIALS :
