Data Center Technician II

Purpose Perform structured cabling and fiber splicing tasks independently while mentoring entry-level techs, ensuring QC compliance, and intermediate knowledge in data center networking. Responsibilities Execute fiber prep, fusion splicing, and OTDR testing. Read network drawings and install rack-based infrastructure. Document test results and as-built cabling paths. Assist in on-site support and training of OMS Technician staff. Intermediate network troubleshooting. Min USD $28.00 / Hr. Max USD $34.00 / Hr. Qualifications Education, Certification, License, and Skill Requirements : 1-3 years of field experience in fiber optics or structured cabling. Proficiency in OTDR, VFL, power meters, and fusion splicing. Familiarity with TIA standards and structured cable management. FOA, BICSI Installer, or equivalent certs preferred. Must have at least a high school diploma or GED equivalency. Tools : Tools : screwdriver (regular and Phillips), drywall saw, torpedo level, tape measure, snips (with belt sheath), pliers (needle nose and channel locks), hammer, cable stripper, flashlight, and gloves. Punch tool with 110 block and 66 block blade, tone set, 6 / 8 position combo crimp tool, and Krone / 3M / BIX. Must meet Company minimum driving standards.
