Job Description :

Auburn Community Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a Labor & Delivery (L&D) position. This is a full-time assignment with a guaranteed 24 hours per week, offering stability and consistent scheduling. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive care to women and their newborns, covering OB, L&D, and Mother / Baby units within a cohesive, all-in-one unit. Flexibility is essential, as caregivers may be floated to other units during low census periods to support hospital needs. The role requires call coverage; nurses must be available for callbacks when shifts are canceled or additional support is needed.

The facility emphasizes patient safety and high-quality care, requiring adherence to specialized protocols, including fetal monitoring and neonatal resuscitation. The nurse will have the opportunity to collaborate with a dedicated healthcare team in a dynamic environment that values professional growth and patient-centered care.

Certifications and Licenses :

Current NYS Registered Nurse License

ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)

BLS (Basic Life Support)

AWHONN Fetal Monitoring Certification

NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)

NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) Certification (must be obtained at time of submission)

Completion of at least 6 CEUs on Stroke-related topics prior to start

What You Bring :

Proven experience in Labor & Delivery, Mother / Baby, or OB units

Strong knowledge of fetal monitoring, neonatal resuscitation, and obstetric care protocols

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and patient safety

Flexibility to float to other units as needed and respond to call requirements

Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Preferred Education & Experience :

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Minimum of 2 years of recent L&D or OB nursing experience

Prior experience working in a hospital setting with high-acuity patients

Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems
