EMIT Learning is currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Paraprofessional to join our team. As a paraprofessional you will play a vital role in supporting the learning and development of students with special needs. Position : Special Education Paraprofessional

Start Date : ASAP
Age Group : Elementary and Middle School
Total Hours Per Week : 35 hours per week
Duration of Contract : New School Year 2025-26

Responsibilities

Assist special education teachers with the implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs

Provide support to students in both inclusive classrooms and resource rooms ensuring their safety and well-being at all times

Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to create a positive and inclusive learning environment

Adapt and modify materials or activities as needed to meet the diverse needs of students

Reinforce instruction and provide assistance to students in completing assignments

Assist with behavior management strategies and techniques to promote a positive and supportive classroom environment

Maintain accurate records of student progress behavior and interactions

Assist with the implementation of assistive technology and other specialized equipment as necessary

Qualifications

Associates or Bachelors degree preferred Should have 48 college units

Previous experience working with students with special needs is desirable

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

Patience flexibility and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations

Knowledge of or willingness to learn about different disabilities and instructional strategies for students with special needs

Ability to follow directions and carry out tasks effectively
