Statutory Accountant

A company is looking for a Statutory Accountant to assist in preparing and reviewing statutory financial statements and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and review statutory financial statements and journal entries in accordance with statutory accounting principles (SAP)

Assist with quarterly and annual statutory filings with state insurance departments and regulatory agencies

Support statutory audits and examinations, providing documentation and responding to inquiries as needed

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

Proven experience in statutory accounting, preferably within the insurance industry

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems (e.g., Workday, NetSuite, SAP, Oracle)

Experience preparing statutory financial statements and regulatory filings

Familiarity with public company requirements, including Sarbanes Oxley and key regulations
