Responsibilities of the Clinical Liaison :
Must possess a thorough knowledge of principles of effective communication, mass media, advertising, policies, education, community relations, demonstration, organization structure, social and activity services, and government relations, etc., as they relate to nursing Facility operations.
Responsible for assimilating information from a variety of sources, analyze information, and make recommendations to the Administrator.
Will establish, implement, and maintain effective marketing and public relations
program.
Schedules and conducts calls to qualified referral sources.
Participates in the planning and coordination of facility events where referral sources and potential residents are invited to attend.
Establish harmonious relationships with patients, staff and community agency
personnel.
Requirements of the Clinical Liaison :
A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in marketing and / or public relations.
Must have strong relationship building and interpersonal skills.
Strong analytical skills required.
Must be a team player willing to occasionally assist or cover for other liaisons, if needed.
Must have excellent problem-solving skills.
Must be able to continue re-setting priorities and work independently.
Must be able to review medical charts and have comprehension of medical terminology.
Strong working knowledge needed of all Medicare, Medicaid, and Managed Care regulations / guidelines pertaining to Skilled Nursing and Long-Term Care.
Must be thoroughly familiar with the laws, regulations and guidelines governing the release of healthcare information.
Three (3) years marketing experience, preferably in the healthcare industry.
Knowledge of Long-Term Care PPS in order to identify preliminary RUG categories for potential admissions.
Ability to cost-out medications for potential admissions in order to plan / budget accordingly.
