Position Overview

The newly-formed Intelligent Imaging Informatics (I3) and Image Quantification and Artificial Intelligence (IQAI) groups in the Department of Diagnostic Imaging are seeking a Software Developer I to join our team.

The Software Developer I develops software to support object oriented software applications. Assists all levels of Software Developers in developing software to support object oriented software applications. Develops the system’s graphical user interface. Supports software coding, testing, debugging, documenting and installation, and may be responsible for one or more of these components. Assists senior level Software Developers in developing detailed specifications from which programs will be written for group level systems. Develops screen layouts for non-functional and functional prototypes.

Job Responsibilities :

  • Assist in / execute entry level design and coding of software utilizing established design and coding standards and practices.
  • Monitor the technical performance of internal systems, software application and server logs for successful implementation.
  • Assist in preparing reports, manuals and other documentation on the status, operation and maintenance of software & systems.
  • Respond to requests from the development team, customers etc.
  • Communicate effectively with software developers, customers and vendors, keeping them updated on status as needed
  • Learn and develop new skills within own area including emerging technologies and trends
  • Perform other duties as assigned to meet the goals and objectives of the department and institution.
  • Maintains regular and predictable attendance.

Minimum Education and / or Training :

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, data science, information science, business, or related field.
  • Minimum Experience :

  • Knowledge of programming languages, databases, data analytics and software development lifecycle.
  • Some experience in systems programming preferred.
  • Compensation

    In recognition of certain U.S. state and municipal pay transparency laws, St. Jude is including a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This is an estimate offered in good faith and a specific salary offer takes into account factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $70,720 - $126,880 per year for the role of Software Developer I.
