Job Summary :
The Phlebotomist Patient Services Representative (PSR II) represents the face of the company to patients, serving as a trusted professional in collecting quality blood specimens for laboratory testing. The PSR II creates an environment of confidence and compassion while ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with laboratory standards. This role requires strong phlebotomy skills , customer service excellence, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced setting.
Key Responsibilities :
Perform accurate and timely specimen collection and processing under the direction of the area supervisor.
Maintain a safe and professional environment while adhering to all company and regulatory policies.
Conduct forensic and clinical specimen collections per established procedures and safety standards .
Verify patient identity and ensure all specimens are correctly labeled in the presence of the patient.
Maintain complete and accurate records of all samples and documentation.
Demonstrate organizational commitment and a positive image to patients, clients, and coworkers.
Handle multiple priorities in a high-volume setting while delivering error-free work .
Travel and provide coverage for multiple Patient Service Centers or in-office phlebotomy locations as needed.
Participate in training sessions and follow all company policies, including safety, confidentiality, and dress code.
Support company goals by demonstrating Leadership Behaviors and commitment to continuous improvement.
Required Experience :
High school diploma or equivalent (REQUIRED).
1–3 years of phlebotomy experience , including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
Experience in a Patient Service Center or similar healthcare environment preferred.
Customer service experience in a retail or healthcare setting strongly preferred.
Keyboard / data entry experience required.
Nice-to-Have Experience :
Medical assistant or paramedic training.
Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in CA, NV, and WA).
Experience providing mobile or multi-site phlebotomy services.
Required Skills :
Venipuncture and specimen collection
Patient interaction and customer service
Accuracy in labeling and data entry
Preferred Skills :
Time management and multitasking
Attention to detail and quality control
Knowledge of HIPAA and OSHA compliance
Additional Skills :
Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license
Ability to make decisions based on established procedures
Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, or on-call shifts as needed
Strong communication and professionalism with patients and coworkers
