Med / Surg RN Job Details

Location : Sylvania, Ohio (43560) – Northwest Ohio healthcare jobs

Unit : Medical / Surgical (Med / Surg) Unit

Employment Type : Travel Nursing Contract

Assignment Length : 13 weeks

Start Date : October 20, 2025

Shift : 12-hour night shifts (3x12 per week)

Total Hours : 36 hours per week

Estimated Weekly Salary : $1610-$1730

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio or compact state

BLS (Basic Life Support) certification – required before first shift

ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification – required before first shift

Minimum 1 year of recent bedside clinical experience in a Med / Surg or acute care setting (2 years preferred)

ICU and critical care nursing experience required

Strong clinical assessment, documentation, and communication skills

Med / Surg RN Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments for all patients within 8 hours of admission

Develop and implement individualized patient care plans; identify and address patient / family teaching needs

Deliver direct patient care utilizing the nursing process : assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation

Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the electronic medical record

Participate in patient rehabilitation and discharge planning to ensure optimal outcomes

Communicate patient status changes promptly to the interdisciplinary healthcare team

Supervise and delegate tasks to Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and new staff

Promote patient and staff safety by adhering to hospital policies and best practices

Foster a positive team environment and participate in unit team-building activities

Assume charge nurse duties as needed after orientation

Pursue ongoing professional development and continuing nursing education
