Job Summary :

The Senior Cloud Engineer leads the design, implementation, and optimization of cloud-based systems to ensure scalable, secure, and high-performing infrastructure. This role demands advanced technical expertise in cloud technologies, strategic thinking, and the ability to mentor junior engineers while collaborating across cross-functional teams to drive innovation and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities :

Architect and Lead Cloud Solutions : Design and oversee the deployment of complex, modular cloud architectures tailored to business needs.

Optimize and Maintain Infrastructure : Ensure high availability, performance, and compliance of cloud environments through proactive monitoring and automation.

Resolve Complex Issues : Lead root cause analysis and resolution of infrastructure and deployment challenges, including performance bottlenecks and security vulnerabilities.

Cross-Team Collaboration : Partner with engineering, development, and security teams to align cloud strategies with organizational goals.

Mentorship and Training : Guide junior engineers and stakeholders on cloud best practices, emerging technologies, and implementation strategies.

Innovation and Continuous Improvement : Evaluate existing systems and recommend enhancements to improve efficiency, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.

Governance and Compliance : Ensure adherence to cloud governance frameworks, security policies, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications :

Education : Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master’s preferred).

Experience : Minimum of 7 years in cloud engineering, with proven experience leading cloud initiatives and mentoring teams.

Technical Skills : Deep expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, ARM, CloudFormation), and automation tools.

Certifications : Advanced certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional, Microsoft Certified : Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or equivalent.

Communication Skills : Strong interpersonal and communication skills to influence stakeholders and articulate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

Preferred Qualifications :

Experience with enterprise-scale DevOps practices and CI / CD pipelines.

Proficiency in containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).

Strong understanding of cloud security frameworks and zero-trust architecture.

Familiarity with cost optimization strategies and cloud financial management.
