Job Responsibilities :
- Implement physician orders, administer medications, start IVs, perform various treatments, procedures, and special tests, ensuring documentation in accordance with policies and regulations.
- Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to accurately identify and assess patient conditions.
- Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations of patient needs and responses to care provided.
- Apply sound nursing judgment in making critical patient care management decisions.
- Provide primary and emergency care for both occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses.
- Administer both over-the-counter and prescription medications as ordered by physicians.
- Collaborate with the nursing team to develop comprehensive Plans of Care for all patients.
- Direct and guide ancillary personnel while upholding professional nursing standards.
Minimum Qualifications :
Graduate from a professional academic nursing program, holding a Diploma, Associate Degree, or Baccalaureate Degree.Current NYS Registered Nurse license is required.Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) must be obtained and maintained.1-3 years of prior clinical RN experience in Med-Surg or Progressive Care is necessary.Exceptional communication, prioritization, organizational, and time-management skills.Knowledge of quality concepts and principles, with the ability to utilize problem-solving tools for departmental patient care quality improvement.Thank you for considering Albany Medical Center as your next place of employment!
