Woodburn Nuclear Medicine & Metro Region PET is seeking an experienced Nuclear Medicine Technologist qualified to perform PET / CT and the full range of Nuclear Exams & Procedures. Candidates must have completed an accredited technologist program and be fully vaccinated.
Job Description
We are located on Woodburn Road at the intersection of Gallows Road. The Dunn Loring Metro Station is approximately 2.5 miles away with bus service to our location. Monday Friday.
Brief Description Of Position
The PET / CT Technologist is responsible for operating PET / CT equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images, administering radiopharmaceuticals, and performing scans to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating various conditions.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Perform PET / CT scans to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.
- Administer radiopharmaceuticals and contrast agents as prescribed.
- Ensure the safety and comfort of patients before, during, and after the procedure.
- Provide clear instructions and explanations to patients regarding the procedures.
- Adhere to strict safety protocols and perform scanner preventative maintenance.
- Follow all SOPs and physician orders.
- Operate and maintain PET / CT imaging equipment.
- Operate and maintain dose calibrator, well counter, GM meter.
- Perform regular equipment quality checks and calibrations.
- Troubleshoot and report any malfunctions or discrepancies to supervisor.
- Be able to lift 50-75 lbs.
- Greet patients, explain study, and prepare them for the imaging procedure.
- Address patient concerns and answer questions related to the scan.
- Monitor patient for adverse reactions.
- Assist patients onto the imaging table and into injection chair.
- Collaborate with radiologists and physicians to plan and evaluate imaging protocols.
- Assist in the scheduling of patients for timely and efficient workflow.
- Maintain accurate patient records and imaging data.
- Ensure proper coding and billing for imaging services.
- Adhere to all federal, state, and local regulations regarding radiologic health and safety.
- Participate in continuing education to stay current with industry standards and technology.
- Maintain a professional & positive work environment with clients, vendors, and physician practices.
- Execute any other duties as assigned by the company and department head.
Qualifications
Certification by ARRT or NMTCB.State licensure as required.Proficient in cross-sectional anatomy, patient positioning, and imaging techniques.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Compassionate and patient-focused care.Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.High level of attention to detail and quality of work ethics.Work hour flexibility based on the practices needs.Company Description
