Responsibilities Position is in an acute care hospital setting on a Labor & Delivery unit Night shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM are required, with either every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday or every 4th weekend depending on position Unit includes 4 L&D beds, 2 triage beds, and 5 postpartum beds Typical nurse-to-patient ratios are 1 : 2, with labor patients 1 : 1, couplet care 3 : 1, unstable antepartum 1 : 1, and stable antepartum 2 : 1 Patient population includes healthy mothers and babies, antepartum cases, C-Sections, and postpartum care Cerner Community Works is used for EMR charting No floating to other units required No call responsibilities Main duties include caring for laboring patients, assisting with deliveries including C-Sections, and providing postpartum and nursery care Support staff includes a house supervisor and respiratory therapists available as needed Nurse manager may provide patient care when necessary OB / Neonatologist and pharmacy are not in-house 24 / 7 Orientation is held every Monday This is a Critical Access Hospital environment Weekend shifts and some holiday coverage are required Requirements Active IN or compact RN license required Minimum of 2 years' Labor & Delivery nursing experience Current certifications in ACLS, BLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Experience with antepartum care including magnesium drips, participation in C-Sections, and couplet care required Ability to care for stable nursery babies on vapotherm and manage healthy mom / baby cases Must be able to function in both Labor & Delivery and couplet care settings Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-633670.
