Job Description

Position Summary

The Cloud Architect will play a pivotal role in shaping Ryders cloud strategy and operational excellence. This individual will lead the design, governance, and implementation of scalable, secure, and automated cloud solutions across hybrid and multi-cloud environments. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise, strategic thinking, and leadership to drive innovation and efficiency across Ryders cloud and on-prem platforms.

Essential Responsibilities

• Cloud Governance Leadership : Define and evolve Ryders cloud governance framework to ensure alignment with enterprise security standards and compliance requirements.
• Platform Engineering Leadership : Lead the Platform Engineering function with a focus on building and maintaining a resilient, scalable, and secure infrastructure. Drive the development of reusable infrastructure components, automation frameworks, and standardized deployment pipelines. Ensure seamless integration with enterprise systems such as ServiceNow, CMDB, and monitoring platforms.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration : Partner with product teams, engineers, leadership, and enterprise architects to align cloud strategies with business goals and technical frameworks.
• Technical Advisory : Provide expert guidance on cloud-native tools, service models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS), and architectural best practices to development and business teams.
• Reliability Engineering : Promote a culture of resilience by designing self-healing systems with robust monitoring, alerting, and error-handling capabilities.
• Team Leadership : Manage and mentor the Platform Engineering team, fostering a high-performance culture and continuous learning environment.

Compensation Information

The compensation offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidates relevant experience; education, including relevant degrees or certifications; work location; market data / ranges; internal equity; internal salary ranges; etc. The position may also be eligible to receive an annual bonus, commission, and / or long-term incentive plan based on the level and / or type. Compensation ranges for the position are below :
