Safety Manager

The main purpose of this job is to manage, supervise, and develop the day-to-day processes carried out by terminal and dedicated safety representatives. Job may include management of up to 10 associates that carry out various responsibilities in the safety department.

Essential Job Functions

• Manage the associates and facilities maintenance of the Omaha Training Facility.
• Responsible for hiring and training of Safety personnel for the Werner Welcome Experience, simulation training, backing / range training, etc. Requires knowledge of driver hiring requirements.
• Capable of handling Safety dispositions involving accidents, Company policy and / or D.O.T. regulation violations when called on to do so. Safety Managers will need to be sure that all appropriate notifications, paperwork, and documentation are complete and instruct others in this.
• Ability to assist in the creation, development and implementation of policies and procedures.
• Ability to be on call for potential time sensitive scenarios that require management level decision-making.
• Ability to perform other duties as assigned by supervisory personnel.
• Timely and regular attendance according to the scheduled shift as determined by supervisory personnel.
