Are you an experienced Tool Maker with a passion for precision, creativity and problem-solving? Our industry-leading manufacturing company is seeking a Permanent Lead Tool Maker to join our dynamic team. You will be working on various projects, designing and creating specialty tools and equipment used in our production processes. We are looking for a candidate who is not only technically skilled but also has a keen eye for detail, strong leadership skills and a commitment to excellence.

Responsibilities :

As a Permanent Lead Tool Maker, your core responsibilities will include :

1. Leading and overseeing the day-to-day operations of the tool making department.

2. Designing and creating custom tools using Solidworks and Mastercam.

3. Collaborating with the engineering team to understand project specifications and requirements.

4. Conducting quality control checks to ensure tools meet or exceed industry standards.

5. Training and mentoring junior tool makers, sharing your knowledge and expertise.

6. Continuously researching and implementing new tool making techniques to improve efficiency and quality.

7. Troubleshooting and resolving any issues related to tool design and production.

8. Maintaining a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

9. Performing preventative maintenance on tooling equipment and machinery.

Qualifications :

To be successful in this role, you will need :

1. A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Tool Maker in the manufacturing industry.

2. Proficiency in Solidworks and Mastercam or equivalent software.

3. Extensive knowledge of tool making techniques, machinery, and equipment.

4. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically.

5. Strong leadership skills and the ability to train and mentor others.

6. A keen eye for detail and a commitment to quality.

7. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

8. The ability to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.

9. A degree in a relevant field is preferred but not required.
