HVAC Installation Technician


Employment Type: Direct Hire
Client: Confidential
Location: Richardson, Texas (Full-time | On-site)
Pay Rate: $62,000 - $88,000/year ($30/hour - $42/hour), based on experience.
Travel: Required across DFW job sites. Candidates must have their own vehicle (preferably a truck) and a valid driver’s license. Mileage will be reimbursed for travel to job sites only.

Job Overview:
Wheeler Staffing Partners is seeking a skilled and motivated HVAC Installation Technician to join our client’s team. This position involves installing HVAC systems for new commercial construction projects across the Dallas-Fort Worth area. The ideal candidate will have proven expertise in HVAC installation, with a focus on quality, precision, and adherence to industry standards.

Responsibilities:
  • Install HVAC systems in new commercial construction projects, ensuring precise installation according to specifications.
  • Interpret and follow blueprints, mechanical diagrams, and technical documents to ensure accurate system placement.
  • Install various types of ductwork, including spiral, square, snap lock, round, and flex duct, using industry-standard techniques.
  • Perform brazing and welding for refrigerant line connections and other system components.
  • Test and balance HVAC systems after installation to ensure proper airflow, pressure, and overall performance.
  • Collaborate with other trades (electricians, plumbers, general contractors) to ensure smooth project progression and resolve any installation issues.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with safety regulations and codes.
  • Troubleshoot system issues or installation challenges, demonstrating excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry standards, HVAC technologies, and company-specific procedures.

Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in HVAC installation for new commercial construction projects.
  • Strong understanding of HVAC system components and their installation, including ductwork, refrigeration lines, air handlers, and associated equipment.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting HVAC plans, blueprints, and mechanical drawings.
  • Skilled in installation techniques for spiral, square, snap lock, round, and flex duct.
  • Experience with brazing and welding HVAC components, with a solid understanding of safety practices when working with these tools.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet project deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and quality.
  • Ability to adapt and learn quickly in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with industry codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Proficiency in using hand and power tools and test and balance equipment for HVAC systems.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with project managers, coworkers, and other trades.

Preferred Certifications (Not Required):
  • EPA Certification (for refrigerant handling).
  • OSHA Safety Training.
  • NATE Certification.
