To provide general dentistry and supervise the Dental Department. This description includes duties performed by the Dental Director. However, as Director, any new activity can be initiated by the Director as his judgment deems fit.

Duties :

Duties and Responsibilities : Clinical Dental Areas of Responsibilities : 1.Diagnosis and treatment planning 2.Emergency Dental treatment 3.General Dental to include : a.Operative dentistry b.Fixed prosthedontics c.Removable prosthedontics d.Endodontics e.Periodontics and prevention f.Orthodontics - referrals and space maintenance g.Oral surgery 4.Referrals to specialists those cases which are better resolved by specialty attention. Head Start Activities 1.Member of Health Advisory Committee 2.Screening exams for students 3.Follow-up restorative requirements 4.Monitor and order fluoride tablets for fluoride program 5.Provide toothbrushes 6.Work with students during the year, as stated in Head Start Dental Agreement. Other Community Activities 1.Oral Health Education and Sealent Program at Round Valley Elementary School. 2.Speak to any school group which shows an interest and fits into schedule.

Qualifications :

Possession of the legal requirements for the practice of dentistry in California as determined by the California Board of Dental Examiners; at least two years of professional dental experience; and knowledges and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position.
