Job Description

The Metal Finisher will handle stainless steel parts post-welding, ensuring the welds are ground to a smooth finish. This role requires a keen eye for detail to identify defects and imperfections in the welds. Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for buffing the stainless steel to a mirror finish and using a straight liner to edge the sheet metal.

Responsibilities

Grind welds on stainless steel parts to a smooth finish.

Inspect welds for defects and imperfections.

Buff the exterior of stainless steel parts to achieve a mirror finish.

Use a straight liner to edge sheet metal.

Perform repetitive production work while holding a grinder for most of the shift.

Stand for the entire shift and maintain attention to detail in all tasks.

Essential Skills

Minimum of 6 months experience in metal finishing or grinding.

Mechanical inclination, possibly from fields like construction, lube tech, or manufacturing.

Strong desire to work in grinding and metal finishing.

Attention to detail, with potential experience using measuring equipment like micrometers and calipers.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience in sanding, deburring, polishing, and blueprint reading.

Openness to cross-training and learning new skills in the fabrication space.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00 / hr.
