THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR provides direct, comprehensive administration and management of a small Housing Authority with a portfolio of assisted units receiving funding from state and federal sources. The Housing Authority seeks highly qualified applicants for the full-time, exempt position of Executive Director. Candidates are subject to certain qualification verifications prior to employment. Salary is commensurate with experience and education; negotiable to a maximum of $79,900 for HIGHLY QUALIFIED applicant.  The position offers excellent benefit package and includes annual, personal, and sick leave, holidays, tuition assistance, flexible work hours, and insurance / retirement benefits through the State of West Virginia. REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :

1. A bachelor’s degree with 3+ years’ experience in public or private housing, community development, public administration, nonprofit administration, or closely related fields which demonstrate strong management, organizational and critical thinking skills.

2. A master’s degree in business or public administration combined with any experience which demonstrates strong management, organizational and critical thinking skills.

Other combinations of education and experience that could provide the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job may be considered at the discretion of the Board of Commissioners. Working knowledge of local, state, and federal governmental procedures and regulations related to housing development, construction and the management of housing operations is recommended. Working knowledge of fiscal and administrative management, maintenance systems, personnel, capital improvement planning, and technology systems in public or private housing is recommended. Excellent written and verbal skills are mandatory.

Salary / Compensation : $64,000 - $79,900 per year
