Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced

AV Systems Estimator

to join our team. This role is critical in evaluating project specifications, preparing accurate cost estimates, and delivering competitive bids for audio, video, and lighting installations. You will work closely with sales, project management, and engineering teams while engaging with vendors and clients to ensure precise and timely cost forecasting that supports business growth.

Responsibilities

Review project specifications, drawings, and related documents to determine scope and requirements of AV system installations.

Collaborate with sales teams, project managers, and clients to clarify project details and identify special requirements.

Conduct take-offs and material quantity assessments to determine necessary equipment, cabling, and accessories.

Source AV products, tools, and systems from multiple vendors, ensuring alignment with project scope and budget.

Prepare detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontracted services.

Coordinate with engineering, operations, and purchasing teams to validate estimates and obtain approvals.

Request and negotiate vendor quotes while ensuring availability of required materials and services.

Produce and submit proposals, bids, and quotations in accordance with company standards and deadlines.

Maintain accurate records of estimates, bids, vendor communications, and project documentation.

Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Audio Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (equivalent experience considered).

35 years of proven experience in estimating or cost projections, preferably within the AV, low-voltage, or construction industries.

Strong knowledge of audio, video, and lighting systems, components, and integration methods.

Familiarity with AV system design standards and industry guidelines (InfoComm, CEDIA, etc.).

Proficiency in estimating software / tools and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with high attention to accuracy.

Strong communication and negotiation skills for working with clients, vendors, and internal teams.

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines independently.

Competitive base salary : $80,000 $110,000 annually (commensurate with experience).
