Job Summary
Department-Specific Responsibilities
- Monitors and maintains the biorepository facility, including associated equipment.
- Recognizes when outcomes/conditions are not as expected, performs investigations, and refers to management for corrective and preventive action decisions.
- Supports biorepository client use of the facility.
- May be required to lead implementation of modifications in procedures to satisfy corrective and preventive actions.
General Responsibilities
- Performs daily, weekly, monthly, annual, biennial, preventative maintenance, and function verification of new equipment.
- Applies quality practices (GCP, GLP, GMP, GDP, ISBER) to positively impact environmental/research compliance and quality of samples used in research.
- Identifies errors and report findings to management.
- Provides on-call support to facility or equipment alarms on nights and weekends.
Qualifications
EDUCATION
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent (such as HSED or GED)
Preferred
- Bachelors degree in related field
WORK EXPERIENCE
Preferred
- 2 years of experience in a warehouse, maintenance, quality assurance, inventory, technical, clerical, or customer service environment
SKILLS

Working Conditions / Demands
The role regularly requires the ability to effectively communicate. The role frequently requires the ability to move about the work environment and to position oneself to operate laboratory equipment effectively. The role requires the ability to move objects weighing up to 25 pounds and will occasionally work near moving mechanical parts. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.
