The Crisis Recovery Center

The Crisis Recovery Center (CRC) is the critical next step in DuPage County Health Department's decades-long journey to build the infrastructure needed to support a best-in-class behavioral health system and ensures all DuPage County residents will have "someone to contact, someone to respond, and a safe place to get help" when experiencing a mental health or substance use crisis. The CRC will help residents de-escalate, stabilize, and connect to community resources catered to their individual mental health and substance use treatment needs. The building design and operations will ensure individuals and their families feel welcome, respected, and secure throughout every step of their care. The CRC serves as an alternative to hospital emergency departments and simplifies access to crisis care for all individuals, families, and first responders. Job Details

This role requires you to have a valid driver's license along with your own personal vehicle that is reliable to drive while working in this role.This On-Call position includes working at least 3 shifts per month and as needed with weekend and evening availability. Bachelor's degree candidates will be considered. We offer a stipend or an hourly on-call rate as follows :

Bachelor's degreed candidates : $24 an hour

Master's degreed candidates : $28 an hour

Responsibilities

• Provides emergency and crisis intervention services to individuals and families, both face to face, and via telephone / video.
• Conducts crisis evaluations in the community (home, hospitals) for children, adolescents, and adults to assess risk and determine recommendations for client care. Referral sources include CARES / SASS, law enforcement, hospital settings, and families / individuals.
• Provides and follows-up on referral and community resource linkage.
• May conduct crisis evaluations on-site.
• May complete client care tasks associated with the 12-bed Crisis Residential unit on-site.
• Maintains required training, licensure and / or certification.
• Consults with staff concerning client and program issues and provides other case management services.
• Works collaboratively with community providers
• Completion of required documentation within established timeframes
• Use of an Electronic Client Record, and additional call management software
• Demonstrates independent judgment.
• Participates in emergency response activities as assigned.

Requirements

Candidates for consideration require either a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field and two years of experience working with chronically mentally ill population; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Attendance at our paid HR new hire orientation from 8 : 00 am to 4 : 30 pm is required. This role requires you to have a valid driver's license along with your own personal vehicle that is reliable to drive while working in this role.
