About the Role

Our construction client is looking for an experienced Controller to lead all accounting and financial operations. This is a highly visible, hands-on leadership role for someone who knows construction accounting, job costing, and cash flow management and wants real influence over how the business performs.

Youll partner closely with leadership and project teams to ensure financial accuracy, manage risk, and improve profitability across active projects.

What Youll Be Doing

• Own company-wide cash flow, forecasts, and financial risk management
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, pro-formas, and multi-year financial models
• Oversee AP, AR, payroll, and general ledger operations
• Ensure accurate job cost, labor, and overhead tracking
• Audit project financials at key milestones (25%, 50%, 75%, 100%)
• Execute month-end close with full balance sheet reconciliations
• Deliver accurate monthly financial packages by the 15th
• Partner with leadership on pricing, capital investments, and contracts
• Coordinate tax filings and audits with external CPA
• Ensure compliance with lien releases, insurance, and regulatory requirements
• Maintain and improve internal controls and accounting processes
• Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team
• Support Project Managers with audits and financial reviews

What They're Looking For

• Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance (preferred)
• 810 years of accounting or finance experience
• Construction industry experience a MUST
• Strong GAAP, budgeting, and financial reporting expertise
• Experience with Premier, Procore, and GC Pay a plus
• Hands-on leader with strong attention to detail and process mindset
