As a Patient Care Technician (PCT), you will play a vital role in a dedicated healthcare team committed to improving the lives of patients experiencing renal failure. Working under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Charge Nurse (CN), your compassion and technical skills will help provide essential dialysis treatment to our valued patients.
What you'll be doing
- Patient Care : You will directly interact with patients, ensuring they receive safe, comfortable, and high-quality dialysis treatment. Key responsibilities include monitoring patient vital signs before and after treatment, initiating and terminating dialysis sessions, and collecting blood samples as per physician orders.
- Technician Duties : Quality is your priority! You will prepare dialysis machines, perform thorough cleaning and disinfection, and conduct safety checks to guarantee a safe environment for our patients.
- Safety and Quality : Utilizing personal protective equipment, you will follow safety protocols and adhere to all relevant procedures and regulations under the guidance of a Charge Nurse. Your participation in staff meetings and ongoing education will be key in maintaining high quality care.
What we're looking for
High school diploma or equivalent.A passion for healthcare and a desire to provide compassionate patient care.Prior experience in healthcare settings like dialysis, phlebotomy, or as a CNA is an advantage.Comfortable with mixing medical solutions as per guidelines.Ability to differentiate between primary colors.Other requirements
Completion of the USRC training program approved by the Medical Director, including demonstration of competency in hemodialysis theory and practice within 8 weeks of hire.CPR certification within 90 days of hire, or as needed by the state.Patient Care Technician certification from a state or nationally recognized program within 18 months, with necessary maintenance of certification thereafter.Are you ready to make a difference?
