Senior SAP Techno-functional Report Writing Lead Consultant

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced

Senior SAP Techno-functional Report Writing Lead Consultant

to join the client SAP team along with 2 other ABAP developers. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in both SAP functional processes and technical development, with a primary focus on

report design, development, and optimization

across SAP S / 4HANA and ECC environments. This role requires deep hands-on experience with

ABAP, CDS views, SAP Query, SmartForms, Adobe Forms, ALV reports, and OData services , along with a strong understanding of functional business processes across Finance, Supply Chain, Sales & Distribution, Procurement, and Manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the

design, development, and delivery of SAP reports

(standard and custom) aligned with business requirements.

Collaborate with functional teams to

analyze reporting needs

and translate them into technical specifications.

Develop reports using

ABAP, CDS Views, ALV, SAP Query, SmartForms, and Adobe Forms .

Create

analytical reports and dashboards

leveraging SAP Fiori, Embedded Analytics, and SAC (SAP Analytics Cloud).

Build and optimize

OData services

to support reporting in Fiori / UI5 applications.

Ensure reports are

compliant with SAP best practices

for performance, security, and scalability.

Troubleshoot and resolve issues in existing reports, ensuring timely support for business operations.

Participate in

end-to-end SAP project life cycles : requirements gathering, functional / technical design, configuration, testing, and deployment.

Provide

knowledge transfer, documentation, and training

to internal teams and end-users.

Act as a

bridge between functional and technical teams , ensuring alignment and smooth delivery of reporting solutions.

Required Skills & Experience

10+ years of SAP experience

with strong techno-functional expertise in reporting.

Proficiency in

ABAP programming

(classical, OO, and modern techniques).

Strong knowledge of

Core Data Services (CDS) views, AMDP, and HANA SQL scripting .

Expertise in

SAP SmartForms, Adobe Forms, and ALV Grid / Tree reports .

Experience with

SAP S / 4HANA Embedded Analytics

and Fiori reporting apps.

Hands-on experience building

custom OData services

and integrating with UI5 / Fiori.

Broad

functional knowledge

in at least two SAP modules (FI / CO, SD, MM, PP, QM, PM, or EWM).

Strong skills in

FIT-GAP analysis, functional design documentation, and testing .

Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

Prior experience working in

Agile and / or ASAP methodology

project environments.

Preferred Qualifications

SAP certification(s) in ABAP, S / 4HANA, or reporting / analytics.

Experience with

SAP BW / 4HANA

or legacy SAP BW.

Familiarity with

integration to external reporting tools

(Power BI, Tableau).

Prior consulting experience in global SAP rollouts and large-scale implementations.

Engagement Details

Role : Senior SAP Techno-functional Report Writing Lead Consultant

Location : Mostly Remote with some onsite work in beginning aand end of project

Duration : 6-12+ months
