Signet Jewelers combines quality Team Members with technology in a fast-paced Distribution Center environment to process jewelry for distribution to over 2,500 jewelry stores. We protect our brand by maintaining high quality standards, product integrity and accurate movement of our inventory. This position is responsible for leading, coordinating and delegating efforts of non-exempt Team Members to meet all deadlines and service level agreements (SLA). This individual needs to be highly organized, detailed oriented, able to handle constant change in a fast-paced high-volume environment.
Major Responsibilities / Essential Functions :
Production : Assist DC Manager to achieve applicable department production standards to meet or exceed daily priorities and deadlines and service level agreements (SLA’S). Responsible for team compliance to existing standard operating procedures (SOPs) within their areas of responsibility to ensure appropriate task completion and product security measures as well as review and update SOPs as needed. Maintain, monitor, and control the movement and accuracy of the inventory moving in and out of the department. Conduct and / or support physical inventory of responsible DC locations when scheduled.
Team Leadership : Assist DC Manager to monitor and develop team members to conduct their daily tasks. Ensure productivity and quality standards are maintained or improvement plans are initiated when needed. Conduct interviewing, hiring and termination duties when applicable. Develop team members to promote from within whenever possible.
Collaboration : Assist the DC Manager to work collaboratively with DC leadership as well as all applicable teams across the corporation to accomplish goals including execution of DC wide projects, flexing staff and providing back up supervision to other DC teams when needed.
Continuous Improvement : Assist DC Manager to identify trends and make suggestions for improving overall process flow to support the DC high velocity at a lowest cost initiative. Training and development of team members to increase efficiency and productivity is critical.
Position Qualifications :
Education : High School Diploma / GED
Acceptable Job-Related Experience : 1 year experience in a supervisory level position
Technical / Other :
DCA certificate preferred.
Experience in in retail, wholesale, manufacturing, or production environment preferred.
Good math skills to support quality inspection, inventory reconciliation, transfer / task accuracy audits
Possess computer and data entry skills (Time and Attendance, IMS inventory applications, automated software to support radiofrequency and sortation systems, Microsoft Outlook, etc.)
Maintain consistent quality of the work with good written and oral communication skills
Must be able to work independently
