Fire Suppression Technician – Service, Maintenance & Installation

We are a small, home-based fire protection business seeking a dependable and motivated Technician to join our team. This role is hands-on and involves a variety of work, including fire suppression systems, equipment maintenance, and service calls. We provide a supportive work environment, training, and growth opportunities for the right candidate.

Primary Duties :

Service, maintain, and install kitchen hood fire suppression systems in restaurants and commercial kitchens

Inspect, service, recharge, and replace fire extinguishers as needed

Test and maintain exit and emergency lighting systems for compliance and safety

Assist with fire alarm systems, sprinkler systems, and backflow testing (experience is a plus, but training can be provided)

Perform light electrical work, including wiring, conduit runs, and troubleshooting (preferred, not required)

Manage inventory control, including stocking and organizing parts, tools, and equipment

Maintain company service truck — keeping it clean, organized, fueled, and stocked

Accurately complete inspection forms, service reports, and customer paperwork

Provide excellent customer service on-site, answering basic questions and representing the company professionally

Work Schedule :

Hours will vary depending on scheduled jobs, typically between 4 : 00 AM and 4 : 00 PM

Early mornings are common due to restaurant service requirements

Some days may be shorter or longer depending on workload

Must be flexible with hours and available to adjust as jobs demand

Compensation :

$15 – $40 per hour, based on experience and certifications

Paid training provided for candidates without prior experience

Opportunities for raises as skills, licenses, and responsibilities increase

Qualifications :

Previous experience in fire protection, electrical, mechanical, or related trade preferred, but not required (we will train the right person)

Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Ability to lift and carry equipment (up to 50 lbs) and perform physical work

Comfortable with ladders, small hand tools, and working in kitchens or commercial environments

Strong attention to detail, safety, and code compliance

Dependable, punctual, and able to work with or without direct supervision

Good communication skills and professional appearance when dealing with customers
