Travel Cable Technician

Technicians will be responsible for installing

• data racks / cabinets, CAT6 and COAX cables, faceplates
• , and performing
• testing and labeling
• . Additional tasks include setting up
• DirecTV cable boxes, modems, and satellite dishes
• , as well as building out
• server closets for network setups
• . Work will take place inside and outside school and apartment buildings, with occasional trenching and directional drilling. Technicians will follow instructions from project leads.
• Key Responsibilities
• Install and terminate
• CAT5 / CAT6 and COAX cabling
• for data and video systems.
• Set up and configure
• network hardware
• , including routers, modems, and wireless access points.
• Install
• patch panels, faceplates, and structured cabling systems
• Assist in building
• server closets
• and organizing network infrastructure.
• Perform
• testing, labeling, and quality checks
• on installed cabling.
• Install
• security cameras (CCTV)
• and audio / video equipment.
• Occasionally assist with
• trenching and directional drilling
• for outdoor cabling routes.
• Skills & Qualifications
• Experience with
• low-voltage cabling
• , cable termination, and punch-down techniques.
• Familiarity with
• wireless access points, CCTV systems, and security installations
• Ability to read and follow installation diagrams and instructions.
• Reliable, detail-oriented, and motivated to advance in the field.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00 / hr.
