Responsibilities

Flex Officer responsibilities are described below. The role is crucial to the company's operational and financial success, providing trained, competent support by working shifts that become open due to illness, call-offs, weather, vacation, or other causes. This enables Sunstates to provide continual, uninterrupted service to customers while protecting the health and work balance of personnel. The Security Officer may perform duties as specified by Post Orders and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and must read and act quickly and efficiently according to those directives.

Position & Scheduling

The Flex Officer position involves training at various posts and facilities based on operational need. Shifts may be at a specific post for a period, but this is not a permanent assignment. Your schedule (shifts, days off, hours per week, etc.) will vary based on operational need. You will be assigned to, or offered the opportunity to accept, shifts as they become available. Some shifts may be scheduled in advance and posted with the new week's schedule; some may require short notice. You are expected to work any scheduled shift that falls within your described availability. If you know you will be unavailable on a date or time, inform your supervisor so they do not schedule you.

For short-notice call-ins, you are expected to work at least 80% of the shifts for which you are called. Refusing more than 20% of called shifts could impact employment status.

Requirements

• Security, military, or law enforcement supervisory experience preferred.
• Valid PERC Card preferred.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Must have reliable transportation and means of communication.
• Must pass a background check and drug screen.
• Read and understand written instruction and communicate information clearly in writing.
• Ability to analyze situations, solve problems, and make decisions under pressure within the area of responsibility.
• Must regularly stand or walk for extended periods of time and distance.
• Willing and able to work holidays, weekends, and in all weather conditions.

Education & Certification

Education : High School diploma or equivalent. Certification : PERC Card.
