Overview
This is a hybrid role with the expectation that time working will regularly take place inside and outside of a company office either in Raleigh, NC or Phoenix, AZ.
We are seeking an experienced Senior Development Manager to lead the design, development, and delivery of MuleSoft API integrations and Java-based microservices. This role will be responsible for overseeing delivery execution, managing cross-functional teams, and ensuring alignment with business goals, technical standards, and enterprise architecture.
Responsibilities
Provide end-to-end delivery oversight for MuleSoft API and Java microservices projects, ensuring quality, scalability, and timely execution.
Lead project planning, release management, and sprint execution, balancing priorities across multiple initiatives.
Manage and mentor development teams, fostering technical excellence, accountability, and collaboration.
Partner with product owners, enterprise architects, and business stakeholders to define API and microservices strategy and roadmap.
Establish and enforce governance, best practices, and standards for API lifecycle management, microservices design, and DevOps automation.
Drive adoption of agile methodologies and DevOps practices to improve delivery speed and reliability.
Identify and manage risks, dependencies, and escalations, while ensuring proactive communication with stakeholders.
Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to ensure successful integration and delivery outcomes.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree and 8 years of experience in Applications development, analysis or engineering OR High School Diploma or GED and 12 years of experience in Applications development, analysis or engineering
Qualifications :
Proven experience leading development teams in enterprise-scale IT environments.
Strong background in
MuleSoft API development
and
Java microservices architecture
Solid understanding of agile methodologies, DevOps practices, and CI / CD pipelines.
Demonstrated ability to manage delivery, stakeholder expectations, and cross-functional collaboration.
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills : Knowledge of
API security standards
(OAuth2, JWT, SAML, etc.).
Familiarity with
legacy system integration
and modernization strategies.
Experience with
containerization and orchestration
(Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift).
Strong understanding of
observability practices
(logging, monitoring, alerting) for microservices.
Hands-on experience with
cloud platforms
(AWS, Azure, or GCP).
Exposure to
data integration, event-driven architectures, and messaging platforms
like Kafka
