What does this role look like?

Responsible for managing a team of Contracts professionals within the National Security Space (NSS) Line of Business. Candidate will have leadership responsibility for all aspects of pre-acquisition activities and contract negotiation and management, including development of efficient acquisition and contracting strategies in partnership with internal and external customer counterparts. Candidate will serve as a valued business leader and partner with business development, program management, functional counterparts and NSS contracts leadership to drive creative and competitive contracting approaches. Responsible for driving creative contractual strategies and an innovative mind-set across the diverse business portfolio. Will interface regularly with external customers to resolve challenges and support mission success. Must be a self-starter, able to work in a team environment, and provide leadership to the team. Candidate must develop and maintain good working relationships, and be adept at dealing with customers, program team members, and industry peers, including senior management. Must be able to work effectively and independently in a dynamic complex environment. Must be flexible and able to establish priorities for multiple tasks. Candidate should display excellent problem solving, creativity in finding better ways to achieve goals, and a desire to assist in growing the business and gaining efficiencies to help improve financial results as well as customer satisfaction.

Leadership (management) experience

8 years or more of professional experience

Ability to provide leadership, coaching, mentorship, and support to members of the team in a fast-paced environment

Significant experience with USG procurement regulations in all aspects of the contract life cycle including proposals, administration, and close-out.

TS / SCI clearance

Employee will work on-site full-time

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

9x80 every other Friday off

Pay Rate : The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $111,700 - $196,880. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education / training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer. (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees : accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year. This position is incentive plan eligible.
