Type : Full-Time | W2 Position

Compensation : $63,500 – $72,000 per year, plus comprehensive benefits

Schedule : Monday through Friday | 7 : 30 a.m. – 3 : 45 p.m.

About the Role

Focused Staffing Group is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Middle School Science Teacher to join one of our partner schools in Plainfield, New Jersey , for the 2025–2026 school year.

The ideal candidate will design and deliver engaging, hands-on science instruction that fosters curiosity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills while maintaining a safe, inclusive, and dynamic classroom environment.

Responsibilities

Design and implement NGSS-aligned science lessons consistent with the school’s curriculum and instructional philosophy.

Create and supervise safe and engaging laboratory experiments , ensuring compliance with all lab safety protocols.

Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners, including students with IEPs, English Language Learners (ELLs), and advanced students.

Use formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and inform instruction.

Integrate technology and real-world applications to make science learning relevant and interactive.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student performance, attendance, and participation.

Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and families to ensure alignment between academic goals and student outcomes.

Participate in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) , training sessions, and school-wide planning initiatives.

Support the school’s mission, “We Are a Community of Builders,” through innovative curriculum design and student-centered activities.

Serve as a mentor or resource to peers when appropriate and maintain consistent communication with stakeholders.

Adhere to all New Jersey Department of Education (NJDOE) standards and expectations for educators.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Science Education, Biology, Chemistry, or a related field (required)

Master’s degree in Education or a Science discipline (preferred)

Valid New Jersey Teaching Certification in Science (Grades 6–12)

Minimum of two years of classroom teaching experience (preferred)

Strong knowledge of lab safety procedures and scientific inquiry methods

Familiarity with New Jersey Student Learning Standards (NJSLS) and Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS)

Excellent classroom management, communication, and collaboration skills

Commitment to lifelong learning and reflective teaching practices

Belief that all students can learn, grow, and achieve at high levels
