Receiver / Material Handler

The Receiver / Material Handler is responsible for the accurate and efficient receipt, inspection, and movement of materials within the facility. This dual-role position ensures that incoming shipments are properly documented and stored, and that materials are handled safely and distributed to the appropriate departments or production areas. Must be able to work 11am - 7 : 30pm, Monday through Friday.
Receiving Essential Functions :
- Excellent computer skills and ability to learn current processes and VCCMax software to include Order Entry
- Communicating potential problems or needs with incoming material to the Lead or Supervisor
- Inspect incoming material for proper venting and hanging. Must be able to identify coated material
- Read tags, bills of lading, and shipping and receiving papers
- Create tags on incoming product with details including piece count and finished product packaging
- Move pieces of steel and other material up to 50 pounds by hand from different locations in the plant and yard
- Operate small hand tools including tape measures, micrometers, saws, drills, riveters, and nail guns
Material Handler Essential Functions :
Operate forklifts with the capacity to move up to 22,000 lbs. of material on and off of flatbed trailersCommunicating potential problems or needs with material to the Lead or SupervisorInspect incoming material for proper venting and hanging.
