We are seeking a hands-on Accounting Manager who is confident in running daily accounting operations and excited to support future projects. This role is ideal for someone with strong technical accounting (job cost) skills, construction industry experience, and the ability to partner cross-functionally with Payroll, HR, and Project teams.

Key Responsibilities (Non-Negotiables)

The Accounting Manager must be able to :

• Oversee and assist with core accounting functions : reporting, payroll, billing, A / P, A / R, and reconciliations.
• Prepare and review monthly and annual financial closings.
• Apply knowledge of sales tax, AIA billing, accrual entries, inventory adjustments, and project close-outs.
• Partner with Project teams to manage permits, tax-exempt certifications, affidavits, and compliance paperwork.
• Work with the Payroll Manager to post journal entries, ensure compliance, and remit employer / employee taxes to appropriate jurisdictions.
• Collaborate with HR on benefit-related accounting including health insurance, company insurance, and 401(k) contributions.
• Manage and provide leadership for A / R, A / P, and Procurement departmentscreating standardized processes and training team members.
• Maintain proficiency in QuickBooks and ensure accurate financial data management.
• Leverage prior construction industry experience to navigate project-based accounting requirements.
