GovCIO is on the lookout for a skilled Senior DB2 Database Administrator Expert for our Courts proposal. This role is based in San Antonio, TX.
Key Responsibilities :
- Facilitate data movement, troubleshooting, and scriptwriting for common database tasks.
- Manage complex databases focusing on JCL, access methods, validation checks, organization, and security.
- Oversee installations, configurations, migrations, restorations, and monitor system security and performance.
- Deliver Tier 2 and Tier 3 support effectively.
- Conduct presentations on database management system (DBMS) concepts.
Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree with 5-8 years of relevant experience.Extensive knowledge and understanding of DB2 and related processes.Proficient in developing technical solutions for complex problems, aligning with organizational goals.Ability to work independently under general guidance and complete objectives efficiently.Critical contributor to projects, ensuring timely results to prevent resource overexpenditure.Strong analytical and decision-making skills in DB2 database management.Experience in DB2 configuration, administration, performance tuning, backup, and recovery.Familiarity with Red Hat Linux system administration and Linux DB2 Version 9+.Experience setting up High Availability environments with DB2 9+.Proficient in problem research and solution provision.Able to mentor peers and client staff.Willingness to provide occasional weekend or off-hours support.Basic scripting knowledge.Experience with Informix SQL database management including configuration, administration, performance tuning, backup, recovery, and report writing.Experience with Microsoft SQL database configuration, administration, performance tuning, backup, recovery, and report writing.Security Clearance : Ability to acquire and maintain Public Trust.About GovCIO :
