Job Description & Requirements Specialty : Med Surg Discipline : RN Start Date : 10 / 13 / 2025 Duration : 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift : 12 hours, nights Employment Type : Travel Description Position : RN – MS (Ortho-Neuro Trauma) Location : Lafayette, LA Start Date : 09 / 09 / 2025 Assignment Length : 13 weeks End Date : 12 / 09 / 2025 Shift : Night Shift, 12-hour | 7 : 00 PM – 7 : 00 AM Setting : Inpatient – Ortho-Neuro Trauma Unit This is an inpatient nursing opportunity on an Ortho-Neuro Trauma unit at a major regional medical center. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of recent ortho experience and demonstrate strong clinical judgment, teamwork, and leadership. Patient care responsibilities include complex post-operative orthopedic cases and neuro trauma patients. Responsibilities Deliver evidence-based patient care using the full nursing process Manage multiple patients while ensuring safety and timely interventions Communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care Serve as a resource for support staff and maintain accountability for patient outcomes Document thoroughly and accurately in accordance with facility and regulatory standards Participate in quality improvement and compliance initiatives Support patient education and family engagement throughout care Requirements RN Diploma – Required Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing – Preferred 2 years of inpatient Ortho experience – Required Louisiana RN license (active and unrestricted) – Required Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association – Required Certification in Clinical Specialty – Preferred Strong time management, communication, and clinical decision-making skills Comfortable with a fast-paced, high-acuity inpatient environment Additional Information Shift : 7 : 00 PM – 7 : 00 AM, 12-hour nights Unit : Orthopedics – Ortho-Neuro Trauma focus Requires frequent walking, lifting, and physical activity High exposure risk : blood / body fluids and communicable diseases Facility adheres to all compliance, privacy, and safety standards All applicants will be considered regardless of race, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, or veteran status About IDR Healthcare IDR Healthcare is an awarding winning staffing firm that believes it is a privilege and awesome responsibility to serve those who selflessly care for others.
