Job Summary
This position is based fully onsite in Johnstown, PA, and will be responsible for supervising a team of quality technicians and / or quality inspectors for the Leonardo DRS Naval Electronics' Display, Processing, and Networking Center of Excellence.

Performance managementScheduling / headcount managementDirect quality control workers engaged in measuring and testing products and tabulating quality and reliability dataAssist in the development, initiatiation, promotion, and championing of methods and procedures using innovative quality tools and proactive quality improvement techniques in lieu of traditional inspection activitiesAssist in managing budget, cost, and schedule input for quality assignmentsDevelop recommendations for improvements that increase product uniformity and reliability and improves quality characteristics to reduce field failures and issuesEnsure that products are inspected and tested as required prior to shipmentPrepare quality control reports, requirements, etc, in response to request for proposals, quotes, brochures,manuals, etc.Review quality control program plans and inspection plans submitted for approvalWork with Production Manufacturing in establishing quality plans, procedures, and implementation on the manufacturing floor and ensure executionDevelop short- and long-range plans to improve the effectiveness of systems and processes while ensuring compliance with customer and internal quality standards, and to identify and resolve systematic and incidental quality problemsAttend appropriate engineering, customer, or business meetingsParticipate in special projects and performs other related work as assignedParticipate on teams for new product development as directedMaintain knowledge of current trends and developments in the field of quality and process improvementMay serve as liaison with customers on items of product quality or reliabilityMay visit customers and suppliers when necessary to confer on specific quality issuesQualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering, management, or related technical field, or equivalent, with a minimum of 2 years of experienceProficient technical expertise and application domain knowledgeASQ certification or Black Belt preferred Proficient with ISO Standards, Six Sigma tools, statisticsAbility to understand military specifications and to read blueprintsExcellent interpersonal, negotiation, communication and writing skillsAbility to define problems and drive to root cause and effective corrective actionTaking care of our people is a top priority at Leonardo DRS.
