Overview
Shriners Children’s Southern California is seeking an Occupational Therapist to join the multidisciplinary team in our Pediatric outpatient team.
This position is part time, non-exempt and benefits eligible. The pay range for this position is $43.67 - $65.61/hour. Compensation is determined based on years of experience and departmental equity.
Schedule is 2:30P - 6:30P Monday - Friday.
Responsibilities
The Occupational Therapist position provides evaluation and therapy services, including direct patient care, patient/family education and transition of care, in an efficient, age-appropriate, and culturally sensitive manner upon licensed independent practitioner referral.
- Provides comprehensive compliant and safe clinical care demonstrating the philosophy of family centered care, a commitment to the achievement of optimal patient outcomes in alignment with the standards of practice of their professional organization.
- Works with medical staff and the multidisciplinary team to design and implement individualized plans of care to meet the needs of the pediatric patients and their family.
- Functions as a team member and develops leadership skills through activities such as: mentoring, and providing education to students and other professionals.
- Supports the ongoing development and improvement of the department through participation in special projects, performance improvement and facility committees.
- Responsible for professional growth and development through ongoing education and research in alignment with hospital’s patient care and strategic direction.
- Responsible for maintaining current knowledge in changes related to scope of practice, coding/billing practices, compliant documentation and any other knowledge related to the compliant practice in a revenue cycle environment.
- In cooperation with other local leaders, offers exceptional care following the Shriners Hospitals for Children® FOCUSED©™ Program, a system-wide model for professional practice that stresses and emphasizes patient-centered care, or always putting the needs of the patients (and their families first).

Qualifications
Required:
- Current licensure by the California Board of Occupational Therapy
- CPR certification
- Bachelors Degree
Preferred:
- 1+ years of pediatric experience
- 1+ year Occupational Therapy experience
- Hand Therapy experience
