Responsibilities Hospital-based Emergency Department setting Night shift : 6 : 00pm to 6 : 30am, 13-week contract Cares for patients of all ages, ranging from neonates to elderly Handles a variety of emergency cases, including trauma, cardiac, stroke, and sepsis Level III Trauma Center, ACC Chest Pain / STEMI, and Joint Commission Acute Ready Stroke Center designation Patient ratios typically 4-5 : 1, with ESI level 3 average acuity EMR system : EDIS Medhost Utilizes Omnicell medication dispensing; barcode medication administration not in use Possible blocked scheduling upon request Travelers may be floated to other departments to task as needed, with average float being one shift per contract Manage ED patients across all acuities, from ESI levels 1 to 5 Provide care for stroke, STEMI, trauma, and sepsis cases as part of main job duties Required to perform all clinical RN skills relevant to the ED, including assisting with art line, central line, and chest tube placement Expected to handle call lights, patient transport, and board psychiatric patients pending placement Night and weekend shifts include making placement calls for psych patients ED RNs are responsible for completing EMTALA paperwork per hospital policy Night shift duties include mixing certain medication drips using vial to bag adapters Dress code : specified scrub requirements Time off requests must be less than one week in length Requirements Active MO or Compact RN license required Minimum of 1 year recent hospital Emergency Department RN experience At least 1 year of travel nursing experience required Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications required Able to perform triage, PIV, port access / deaccess, foley and NG / OG tube placement, wound care, splint / OCL application Proficient with US guided IV placement preferred Driver's license required for consideration No certifications may expire within 30 days of assignment start No employment gaps of 90 days or more in the past year Former perm CHS employees must be separated at least 2 years to be eligible No local travelers within a 50-mile radius accepted Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-606054.
