What you will do :
The Medical Assistant is responsible to perform the duties of the position in support of the nurses and physicians in providing quality medical care.Responsibilities include escorting patients to exam rooms, taking vital signs, documenting health information, responding to patient concerns, completing referrals, following proper protocol for specimen collection, participating in meetings, completing patient forms, using universal precautions, notifying physicians, stocking and cleaning exam rooms, ordering and stocking supplies, performing office testing, handling medical waste, providing educational materials, providing electronic copies of medical records, scheduling and registration, check-in, check-out, charge entry / claims, end of day processes, document processing, scanning, inbox monitoring, complying with Patient Centered Medical Home care delivery model, performing all mandatory training, maintaining patient confidentiality, working cooperatively with team members, communicating respectfully and effectively, adhering to St Peter's Health Partners Medical Associates Code of Conduct, obtaining and maintaining medical assistant certification.What you will need :
Preferred Qualifications : Graduate of a Medical Assistant Training Program, holds National Medical Assistant Certification : CMA, CCMA, RMAMinimum Qualifications : High School Diploma or equivalency, at least 10 months' work and / or clinical training experience in the healthcare field, proficient in obtaining manual vital signs, experience using an electronic health record system, commitment to confidentiality and respect, ability to obtain and record patient data, knowledge of basic anatomy and medical terminology, experience assisting physicians, nurses, or other healthcare providers in performing clinical tasks and procedures, ability to provide patients with information related to their health and wellnessPay Range : $19.00 - $27.85
Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
