FERMILAB CIVIL ENGINEER (PFRAKP3)
ProSidian seeks a FERMILAB Civil Engineer (PFRAKP3) (CONUS - Batavia, IL, 60510 (Remote) | Senior Consultant - Time and Materials) to support an engagement. Our Civil and Structural Engineers (Resident Engineers), planners, environmental specialists, inspectors, and support professionals are devoted to providing valuable professional services that enhance people's lives through sustainable infrastructure.
This service supports Energy, Resources, & Industrials Sector Clients (For Present / Future Requirements) and ProSidian Team Members work as part of a Key Personnel Cadre (Labor Category) to fulfill T&M - Time and Materials (T&M) requirements for a provide FERMILAB Civil Engineer related services and support for The Fermi Research Alliance, LLC (FRA) Proton Improvement Plan II Project (PIP-II) at The Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory (Fermilab), located just outside Batavia, Illinois, near Chicago, IL. Fermilab is a Department Of Energy (DOE) National Laboratory specializing in high-energy particle physics. This facility is operated by The Fermi Research Alliance, LLC (FRA) Maintenance & Operation Contractor for Fermilab as a partnership of the University of Chicago and the Universities Research Association (URA). This position will be based near Batavia, IL, and can reside in or office within 50 miles of Fermilab.
Under general supervision and based on significant knowledge of the laboratory's procedures and the operations of the area to which assigned, provide specialized FERMILAB Civil Engineer support and performs moderately complex duties, tasks, and assignments that are broad, non-routine, and diversified, exercising a moderate degree of independent decision-making and problem resolution. The Civil Engineer will be required to undergo FRA specific General Employee Radiation Training and Safety Orientation prior to beginning work on the Fermilab site.

FERMILAB CIVIL ENGINEER TASKS
- Assist in the response to construction subcontractor request for information (RFI).
- Assistance in estimating and negotiating changes to the construction subcontract work.
- Perform constructability assessments as appropriate at all phases of the project.
- Conventional facilities project scheduling.
- Construction facilities planning, including temporary power, water, borrow and spoil areas, and road improvements.
- Construction Phase support, including change management, monitoring construction subcontractors' progress versus schedule.
- Assist FERMILAB project managers and senior construction staff in overseeing construction activities across the 6,800 acre Fermilab site.
- Leads and / or participates in weekly construction progress meetings and ensures that goods and services meet specifications.
- Monitors and enforces contractor compliance with their Environment Safety and Health (ES&H) Program, the ES&H requirements in the contract, and the hazard assessments for the scope of work.
- Prepares cost estimates and reviews existing or initiates new construction and service contracts.
- Provide documentation describing ongoing and completed work.
- Review plans and specifications, and recommend revisions where appropriate.
- Serves as a liaison to various Laboratory groups affected by construction projects to ensure that they are informed of construction, operational schedules and / or conflicting schedules.

Engineering degree from an accredited university and a minimum of five (5) years construction observation and site experience in similar work.Must be a licensed Professional Engineer in Illinois.Knowledge of all construction disciplines, including; excavations, conventional construction, electrical, mechanical and building automation is desired.Must be a State Of Illinois Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) and / or Licensed Structural Engineer (SE) - Illinois utilizes the NCEES The Principles and Practice of Engineering (PE) exam for licensure as a PE and the NCEES 16-hour PE Structural Exam for licensure as a Structural Engineer (SE)WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED :
