The IT Manager oversees all aspects of information technology within the organization, providing hands-on support across IT functions including help desk, desktop support, system administration, network management, database administration, and IT security. The role fosters a culture of innovation and efficiency, empowering employees to leverage technology to improve collaboration, productivity, and business outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Help Desk / Desktop Support : provide technical support to end-users, troubleshoot hardware and software problems, install and maintain desktops, laptops, and peripherals, and ensure availability of desktop OS and applications
  • System / Network / Database Administration : manage servers, networks, and IT infrastructure; install / configure Windows Desktop and Server OS, virtualization (Hyper-V), and business applications; manage backups (Veeam) for on-premises and cloud; design and maintain LAN / WAN / Wireless networks; manage network devices (Cisco, SonicWall, Ubiquiti); configure routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points; design and maintain databases; perform backups, restores, and optimizations
  • IT Security : implement and manage security measures, monitor for breaches, respond to incidents, and conduct investigations as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Skills & Abilities

  • Strong knowledge across IT systems, technologies, and platforms; ability to troubleshoot hardware and software across devices
  • Experience with system administration, network management, and database administration
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking to develop innovative solutions
  • Clear communication with end-users, team members, and stakeholders
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Basic project management skills and ability to manage priorities and timelines
  • Team collaboration and ability to work with cross-functional teams
  • Awareness of security threats and proactive risk mitigation
  • Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in IT roles with strong understanding of IT systems and infrastructure
  • Experience supporting ERP, WMS, and CRM; NetSuite preferred
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft 365, Intune, Active Directory, and Azure AD strongly preferred
  • Understanding of IT security principles and best practices; familiarity with cyber security protocols, MDR / EDR technologies
  • Experience managing public domains (DNS, SSL certificates) preferred
  • Experience with Hyper-V or similar virtualization
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware / software; desktop support, system administration, and network management
  • Basic PowerShell scripting and Group Policy knowledge
  • Experience creating API connections is a plus
  • Familiarity with database administration principles and DBMS
  • Knowledge of IT security best practices and tools
  • Manufacturing industry experience is a plus
  • Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to travel at least twice per month to our Ashland, Ohio facility
