About This Role
Reports to : Manager or Director, Diagnostic Imaging
As an Imaging Support Associate, you will assist technologists by transporting patients, preparing them for exams, maintaining supplies, and participating in obtaining imaging studies. You will play a vital role in supporting patients and ensuring smooth operation of the Imaging Department.
For Imaging Tech Students in Interventional Radiology :
Students will report to a Licensed Radiology Technologist and designated preceptors or coordinators. This developmental role provides hands-on experience in Interventional Radiology, paralleling school coursework. Responsibilities advance with the student’s progression, and continuing education is provided. Students may remain in this role until graduation and certification, after which they are eligible to become Licensed Radiology Technologists.
What You’ll Do
Patient Care & Support
Transport patients safely to exam and changing rooms.
Assist patients with preparation for imaging procedures.
Help obtain patient imaging studies as directed.
Obtain and record patient histories per departmental policy.
Greet patients in a professional, caring manner.
Imaging Assistance
Perform daily warm-up procedures on imaging equipment.
Manage incoming orders and enter patient demographics.
Assist technologists during procedures as assigned.
Support imaging processes while learning radiology protocols and terminology.
Supplies & Department Operations
Check supply and linen inventory and restock as needed.
Maintain clean, orderly exam and work areas.
Assist with general departmental upkeep and organization.
Organizational Responsibilities
Attend and participate in departmental meetings.
Complete required education, competencies, and health requirements on time.
Maintain BCLS (CPR) and any other certifications required by department.
Adhere to infection control, compliance, and safety standards.
Be available for overtime and additional shifts as required.

What You Bring
Education & Experience
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Must be at least 17 years of age.
Current enrollment in a radiology school program preferred.
Knowledge & Skills
Ability to follow departmental procedures and basic radiologic / medical terminology.
Clear verbal communication skills to interact with patients, staff, and physicians.
Strong interpersonal and customer service orientation.
Interest in healthcare and technical / scientific learning.
Basic computer and office equipment proficiency; telephone etiquette required.
Working Conditions
Radiology environment with some exposure to radiation.
Frequent walking, standing, and handling of film / equipment.
Physical Demands
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Frequent stooping, bending, twisting, and reaching.
Stamina to remain on feet for extended periods.
