Key Responsibilities :
Lead the planning, design, and delivery of traffic signal projects for public and private clientsOversee preparation of signal design plans (wiring diagrams, phasing, timing, equipment specifications)Manage project schedules, budgets, staffing, and quality control across the full lifecycleCoordinate with roadway engineers, transportation planners, and external stakeholders to ensure smooth executionConduct and review warrant analyses, control evaluations, and timing studiesEnsure compliance with FDOT, MUTCD, and local standardsAct as the primary client contact , developing relationships and ensuring responsivenessMentor junior staff and contribute to technical knowledge-sharing across the teamSupport proposal writing, scoping, and business development activitiesQualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering (or related)P.E. license in Florida (or ability to obtain within 6 months)8+ years’ experience in traffic signal design, with at least 3 years in project / team managementStrong expertise in signal operations, timing, and hardware / software systemsProficiency with MicroStation, AutoCAD, Synchro, SIDRA, AGi32 , or similar toolsFamiliarity with permitting processes and agency standards (FDOT, local MPOs, municipalities)Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
