Job Summary Lead Medical Laboratory Scientist

• Supervise and oversee assigned laboratory sections, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, policies, and procedures.
• Perform and monitor specimen processing, testing, and reporting of results in support of quality patient care.
• Work in a hospital laboratory providing services in chemistry, hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, phlebotomy, blood bank, microbiology, and clinical microscopy.
• Provide 24-hour laboratory coverage by working rotational shifts, including day, evening, night, weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime.
• Initially trained in general bench technologist functions before assignment to specific section(s) for lead responsibilities.
• Ensure test performance and reporting meets all standards for high complexity clinical laboratory testing.
• Maintain oversight of staff and section operations to guarantee accuracy, timeliness, and regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to support patient care objectives.
• Serve as a resource for problem-solving, technical expertise, and process improvement within assigned laboratory section(s).
