Engineering Manager

This position reports to the Production Engineering Manager. In this role, you will have the opportunity to manage a team of engineers to deliver high quality, cost effective, timely engineering solutions to customers and act as a robust link between the product development and the implementation in the operations. You will also showcase your expertise by initiating, coordinating, driving, and overseeing team development and continual improvement of processes and procedures to strengthen the engineering and design capability.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop opportunities to reduce the direct cost of the product, introducing and validating alternative materials and optimizing processes.
• Drive and foster a culture of innovation within the team.
• Oversee efficient project execution in accordance with gate model, internal procedures as well as industry standards to ensure project results are delivered with high quality, on time, and within budget.
• Keep abreast of new Switches technology and market developments to provide input to R&D projects.
• Collaborate with other Agile teams and units, R&D functions, product management, sales, operations and corporate research centers to deliver cost competitive breakers technologies and designs and overall customer satisfaction.
• Develop, secure, and facilitate innovation process and ensure key performance indicators are in place, tracked and continuously improved upon.
• Promote outsourcing and double sourcing activities, establishing a strong connection with Procurement and Planning.
• Support the quality level improvement for processes and products manufactured on site.
• Develop a strong team with clear governance and accountability in terms of roles and responsibility.
