Week A : Sunday12 : 30pm-5 : 15pm; Monday 11 : 15am-8 : 15pm; Wednesday & Thursday 8 : 45am-6 : 15pm;Friday 9 : 15am-6 : 15pm
Week B & C Monday 11 : 15am-8 : 15pm; Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday &Friday 8 : 45am-5 : 45pm
Week D : Monday 11 : 15am-8 : 15pm; Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday 8 : 45am-5 : 45pm;Saturday 9 : 45am-5 : 15pm

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE : Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience Must complete pre-employment testing.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
Primarily responsible for providingsuperior customer service daily to patrons of all ages at a busy public servicedesk on the main floor of the building, fielding questions about libraryresources, materials, digital devices, and offering suggestionsAssists in requests, maintenance, setupsand troubleshooting of audio-visual equipment for patrons & staffProvides patron support andtroubleshooting for the library’s streaming and downloadable collectionsResponsible for maintaining an attractivespace in the Fiction, Movie, Television and Video Game areas at theHeadquarters Library, including collections, displays, and signageRegularly plans, promotes, presents andanalyzes quality programs that meet the needs and interests of adultsAttends regular training related to adultservices and other library work, and may assist at other desks across thesystem as neededParticipates in department meetings,Adult Services Committee meetings, and online discussionsAssists the Assistant Director ofMultimedia & Fiction and the Director of Adult Services with implementationof departmental and systemwide projectsMaintains awareness of & completesongoing training regarding safety and security for all in the buildingKNOWLEDGE & SKILLS :
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination ofeducation and experienceBroad knowledge of entertainment for adults, frombooks, comics and manga to games, movies and television, plus an ongoinginterest in pop culture and technologyStrong skills and ability to work with a variety ofdigital devices, software and audio-visual equipmentExcellent interpersonal and customer service skillsthat display a positive attitude, cultural sensitivity, a sense of humor, withthe ability to interact with people from all backgrounds and age groupsExcellent writing skills with a strong grasp ofgrammar and ability to structure descriptions of events and materialsCreative, flexible and organized with good timemanagement skills and attention to detailAbility to take direction and work independently orwith a team, plus strong work ethic and initiativeValid driver’s license with the ability to drive toother libraries or for community outreachThe library accepts applications with cover letter and resume when a job position is available.
