We're Hiring : Floor Manager in Training at Joy (Highland Park / Santa Monica)
About Joy
Joy is a neighborhood-friendly, fast-casual Taiwanese restaurant located on York Blvd. in Highland Park. Our vision is to make Taiwanese food accessible to all — to be a place where everyone feels welcomed and at home. We strive for consistency, warmth, and thoughtfulness in both our food and service. Even with our counter-service format, we go above and beyond to create an experience rooted in genuine hospitality.
We aim to be a true neighborhood spot — serving delicious, affordable food with care and friendliness in a comfortable setting. In doing so, we serve our community, and in return, we depend on the continued support of our local guests who are at the heart of our existence.
Now Hiring : Floor Manager in Training
We’re looking for a Floor Manager in Training to join our team and grow into a full leadership role. This is a great opportunity for someone who has restaurant experience and is ready to take the next step into management. You'll learn from an experienced management team while gaining hands-on experience in all aspects of front- and back-of-house operations.
At Joy, we operate with a deep commitment to collaboration, integrity, professionalism, warm hospitality, mindfulness, and continual progress. We take pride in offering thoughtful, high-quality service—even in a fast-casual setting—and we’re looking for someone who’s eager to contribute to that mission while developing their leadership skills.
The Role :
Managers at Joy are trained in both front-of-house (FOH) and back-of-house (BOH) operations to build a well-rounded understanding of service and team support. You’ll play a key leadership role in daily operations, helping to ensure smooth service, a positive workplace culture, and a consistently welcoming experience for our guests.
We’re Looking for Someone Who :
Leads by example — with professionalism, consistency, and humility
Has experience in a fast-paced restaurant environment
Brings a team-first mindset and strong communication skills
Is passionate about hospitality and community
Embraces cross-training in both FOH and BOH responsibilities
Has a flexible schedule and is available to work nights, weekends, and holidays
Is physically able to lift up to 50 lbs and be on their feet for extended periods
Approaches challenges calmly and with a solutions-oriented mindset
What You'll Do :
Receive training in both front-of-house (FOH) and back-of-house (BOH) operations
Learn how to lead shifts, manage service flow, and support the team on the floor
Support daily operations while being mentored in team supervision and service standards
Build strong communication skills and contribute to a collaborative team culture
Assist with opening and closing procedures, guest interaction, and conflict resolution
Step into more responsibilities over time as you grow into the role
Opportunities for Growth :
As we expand, there may be opportunities to relocate to new restaurant locations. We’re looking for team members who are excited about long-term growth and the potential to take on leadership roles beyond Highland Park.
Benefits :
Full healthcare coverage, including medical, dental, and vision
Generous paid time off (PTO)
401(k) with company matching
Competitive starting pay, 75k-80k
A respectful, inclusive workplace that values your growth and well-being
If you believe in meaningful hospitality, community engagement, and thoughtful leadership, we’d love to meet you.
