Retail Operations Job

Hannaford Supermarkets, a local market in Portland, Maine, seeks to manage retail operations for the assigned department. The role involves making decisions impacting store associates, merchandise quality, and customer service. The primary purpose is to build associate and customer relations, promote a strong culture in support of the company's strategy, and ensure store conditions are maintained at the highest level.

Duties and responsibilities include fostering a positive and inclusive environment, ensuring quality standards are met, managing department operations, maintaining department appearance, hiring and training associates, attaining departmental financial objectives, role modeling customer service, delegating tasks, maintaining accurate records, meeting physical requirements, providing recognition, treating co-workers respectfully, ensuring proper training and policy adherence, developing product knowledge, using company tools, maintaining operational standards, ensuring communication, observing sanitation, safety, and food safety standards, resolving shrink issues, understanding department standard practices, and performing all other duties as assigned.

Strong understanding of store operations, excellent interpersonal, customer service, and communication skills, excellent organizational skills, good judgment in problem-solving, leading and managing associates, department manager or equivalent experience, college degree or equivalent preferred, and certification as a "Certified Food Safety Manager" are required.

Physical requirements include the ability to use computers and communication systems, lift up to 20 lbs. regularly, lift up to 60 lbs. occasionally, push / pull up to 40 lbs. regularly, and meet established volume and fixed activity standards.

Salary range is between $18.95 - $27.25 hourly.
